AIR TRAVEL GETTING EASIER

It seems that airports all over the world are trying to make travel a little easier on their customers, especially those travelers who have to spend time at airports during layovers. These layovers can be anywhere from an hour to more than 6 hours depending on the connection, delays, which can also occur during bad weather and untimely cancellations.

A growing number of new businesses are opening up a various airports to make air travel less stressful.  Examples of these are a yoga room at the San Francisco airport.  Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson airport has five small cubicles where travelers can grab peace and quiet on a long layover or delay.  Operated by Minute Suites, these sound-proof rooms cost $30 an hour and include a daybed sofa, pillows and blankets, a small TV and Wi-Fi access.  Singapore’s Changi airport is known for its comfortable napping rooms, Hong Kong airport has several resting and shower lounges, and some European airports, including Heathrow, have mini-hotel rooms called Yotel Units.  Have your tried the Airport Spa?  Many airports are adding spa services, everything from a 15-minute chair massage to aromatherapy oxygen treatments.  Other popular services are manicures and pedicures.

If you have been to any of the above, please share your thoughts with us via e-mail and we would be happy to add all experiences in our next newsletter.  info@rickshawtravels.com.
