15 Travel Resolutions you MUST keep in 2015

Travel Resolutions – who knew?  We found this really interesting article on ‘Travel Resolutions you must keep in 2015’ and thought you all might find it interesting.

At Rickshaw we believe no matter where you travel, whether it’s 100 km from where you live or 10,000 km away, you will learn about different cultures, customs and how other people live – be it in your neighborhood or in another country.  Get out of that comfort zone and discover the world around you.  Yes, about those resolutions, click here:

1.   Just Do It – That trip you’ve been simultaneously yearning for and putting off.

2.   Unplug - Get off the grid – slow down, relax, talk, eat, sleep.  Resist the urge those electronic gadgets.

3.   Ask for more vacation time – Negotiate more time from your employer so you can see the real world.

4.   Eat like a Local – Stretch your palate, be curious and when in doubt eat where the locals are lined up.

5.   Travel Solo – Amass a worldwide network of new friends and a collection of travel experiences in the process.

6.   Be Pushy/Polite – It really works.  Be smart wherever you go and also nice.  Ask for that upgrade, late checkout, or complimentary bottle of champagne, but do it with a smile.

7.   Get the right gear – get travel products that will make your trip comfy and fun.

8.   Talk to the locals – just strike up a conversation. The more you expand your circle, the happier your trip will be.

9.   Read a great travel book – An engaging book can inspire travel or illuminate your journey along the way.

10.  Remove your travel barriers – Knock down those barriers, e.g., expired passport? Scared of flying?

11.  Save for the dream trip – Automatically put aside a portion of each paycheck in a dedicated trael fund and cut back on pricey everyday extravagancies.

12.  Pack like a pro – A light suitcase saves you baggage fees.  Carefully match a few tops and bottoms (roll, not folded).

13.  Visit a small town – Wherever you live, there’s a small town waiting an hour or two away.

14.  Manage your points – Think again and sign up for the rewards programs of your favorite airline with a credit card that let you rack up points.

15.  Dream big – Where in the world would you like to go next?  Hold that thought and stretch it – go farther, stay long and push the limits of your imagination.
