Pack Smart and roll your clothes or fold?

There are two schools of thought when it comes to packing.  Though it’s a proven fact that you can put more clothes in a bag if you roll them, and they wrinkle less.

Did you know that friction causes wrinkling and plastic reduces friction? Therefore, the best way to utilize this news is to put your hanger items in dry-cleaner bags.  Clothes arrive in a preserved state.  They really do.  Another use of plastic is the zip-top bags for dirty shoes, shampoo bottles or creams, etc.

Pack light – most hotels now have hairdryers and irons, so don’t carry those.  Mix and match clothes so you can create different outfits with the same clothes.

Most importantly, before you actually start putting your things in the bag, first keep near the bag everything you think you might need for the trip.  Then try to remember your last trip and remove the items you never used on that trip. If you’re rolling your clothes, shoes, slippers and other hard stuff should go around the perimeter of the bag, followed by heavy clothes at the bottom, e.g., jeans, jackets, skirts and the lighter clothes on top, e.g., T-shirts, socks, etc.

Happy Packing!!
