Summer travel by plane can be very uncomfortable.
Long line-ups, packed flights and in some cities, summer storms are sometimes the cause of delayed and cancelled flights, which in turn may cause passengers missing their connections
So how does one try to avoid all this and have a pleasant trip. Some options that experts suggest are as follows:
· If possible, choose an early flight, as the planes haven’t had time to accumulate delays and since they have been at the airports overnight, they should be ready to leave on time in the morning.
· Double and triple check your departure times. You will have a hard time rebooking because flights are full and standby chances are poor.
· If your budget allows you, take a direct flight. Every connecting flight is a flight that can be missed. There is no hope of planes waiting for the late arrivals from other destinations.
· If your flight is cancelled, be prepared to re-book your flight by having airline phone numbers already entered in your cell phone or rebook through your laptop or other smart device. Either of the above methods may be faster than waiting in a line-up with other stranded travelers.
