Tanzania Ngorongoro Wildlife Wows Ex-US President Clinton

Arusha — TANZANIA'S most visited tourist destination proved once more to be a reckoning force in the tourism industry after the legendary Ngorongoro Crater impressed the former US President Mr Bill Clinton, who visited the Ngorongoro Conservation Area (NCA) in May this year.

Making a brief stop at Loduare Gate on his way to Manyara, after visiting the NCAA, the former American head of state took time to make a direct phone call to President Jakaya Kikwete to express his excitement after what he witnessed in the NCA.

Shortly after descending into the caldera, Mr Clinton was received by an astounding pride of 19 lions, a pack of buffaloes and wildebeest, some stuck in the mud, the rare black rhinos that can never be seen roaming freely elsewhere in Africa apart from in the crater.

Previously, Mr Clinton had gone round the Ngorongoro Division where he toured the fog-clouded, chilly-cold location of Nainokanoka ward within the NCA where his trust, the Clinton Foundation, is supporting health service initiatives. The foundation built a dispensary in the ward.
