Travel is the Best Form of Education

Classrooms with teachers, friends and books are one way to learn, but they aren’t the only way. Real education takes place outside the classroom.

Our world is full of wonders and once-in-a-life experiences. Imagine yourself sitting under the stars, enjoying the sounds of the nature around you, or picture yourself hiking the trails of the Himalayas or just sitting on a beach with a cool drink in your hands. Sounds great doesn’t it?

See the world, immerse yourself in a different culture and see how that experience changed your perspective on life.

Here are some reasons why travelling is the best form of education, not just for adults, but for children too:

- Travel actually forces you to learn a new language, well at least some of the native language of the country you may be visiting.  English will probably work for you, but allow yourself to learn a new language. With the smart phones that everyone now carries, there are apps and videos to help you stretch your language stills.

- You can learn about other cultures around the world and in spite of our differences, you will find a lot of things that may be common between your two cultures.  Understand diverse cultures and make this world a better place to live in.

- Travel teaches you about the history of a particular place, not through the media but actually being there and learning about the architecture of the historic monuments and the society that lived there over the centuries.

- Travel makes you leave the comforts of your home and enjoy the many exotic natural wonders of the world. Allow yourself to be surrounded by the breathtaking beauty that is there for you to discovery and realize just how majestic nature is.

- Travel can humble you very quickly, especially when things don’t go as planned. Travel can test your patience and challenge you when your plans fall awry and teaches you to improvise. Don’t fret if your suitcase arrives late, or your transfer doesn’t come on time, because in the end, it all works out if you allow it to.

- Travel will make you learn new things as you explore new countries. Many activities that you thought you would never do, you may now try. For example, you may want to try canoeing, riding elephants, climb mountains or whatever else that interests you.

- Last but not the least, you will meet different people, not only the ones that may be travelling with you, but people along the way in large cities or small villages. If nothing else, you might make a friend or two.
