PrideInn acquires Flamingo Beach Resort

PrideInn Hotels Kenya has officially acquired Flamingo Beach Resort and Spa in Shanzu, Mombasa in a bid to tap the growing market demand for domestic and conference tourism.

With 137 rooms standing over a total of 22 acres, with up to 16 suites, 24 deluxe rooms, 80 standard pool facing rooms, Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa is one of the few hotels that have a huge compound in Mombasa capable of hosting big events.

Speaking during a Christmas tree lighting event at Pride Inn Paradise Beach Resort, Pride Inn Group CEO Hasnain Noorani said the new acquisition will help them tap in the growing demand of domestic tourism after the introduction of the Standard Gaude Railway.

“The reason why we decided to acquire Flamingo Beach Resort mainly because of the opportunities created after the introduction of SGR. The huge size of land here will enable us to host large banquets, conferences for up to 3000 people.” Said Noorani.

He added that the new resort will change its name to Flamingo by Pride Inn, retaining the Flamingo name as the brand is well known by so many people.

Meanwhile, tourism at the Coast has reached its climax with most leading hotels recording more than 70 percent bookings for the December holidays.

According to Mr. Noorani Pride Inn, the two resorts are observing very good occupancy, recording 80 percent bookings with more bookings expected as Christmas and New Year celebrations approach.

“We have some very good programs for festivities at the two resorts, for instance for our theme for this festive season is about taking people from the past to the future; creating a bond between the parents and the kids.” Added Mr. Noorani.
