Air Tanzania’s first Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner made its debut at Julius Nyerere International Airport (JNIA) on July 8. It will service intercontinental routes to Mumbai, India beginning in September.
Since Air Tanzania’s 2016 revival, it has slowly begun playing a larger role in the regional aviation market, and the restoration of the airline is a mandate of President John Magufuli. Air Tanzania currently operates 7 weekly flights between Dar and Kigoma, and in August, will run flights from Dar, through Kigoma to Bujumbara. Air Tanzania will also increase flights to Kilimanjaro (twice daily), Mbeya (daily) and Kigoma (daily).
