Effective January 25th, Airlink has suspended all flights between Johannesburg and Mthatha. Safety concerns have caused The South African Civil Aviation Authority to downgrade the airport, which led to the suspension of Airlink flights. Rodger Foster, CEO and Managing Director of Airlink said, “Airlink will work closely with the Mthatha airport management to emplace a short-term interim solution in the interests of delivering continued services to our customers.”
These interim solutions could include flying smaller aircraft that can be managed with the airport’s downgraded emergency services. Customers requiring refunds should contact their point of purchase.
