Airlink increases flights in South Africa

Cape Town remains an important destination for Airlink as demand for the city continues to grow, with several new offerings already launched this year and more on the cards.

According to Karin Murray, Airlink marketing and sales manager, Cape Town plays a significant role in the airline’s bouquet of offerings as travelers can connect beyond the city on the direct flights to key leisure destinations, allowing travelers to include multiple sectors and destinations in one itinerary.

The airline has constantly been launching new services while at the same time increasing flight frequency between Cape Town and other destinations. According to Murray new developments are in the pipeline. “We are hoping to make announcements very soon in this regard,” she said. “Providing direct flights is an added convenience and flexibility for travelers.”

She said passenger numbers in Cape Town continued to grow, thanks to the increased number of direct international flights.

Airlink is now flying daily between Cape Town and Pretoria, Nelspruit and Skukuza, as well as Maun in Botswana and Windhoek in Namibia. It operates flights from Cape Town to Victoria Falls in Zimbabwe every day except Saturdays as well as between Cape Town and Upington, Cape Town and Kimberley and Cape Town and Pietermaritzburg on the same days.

“The flights have been timed to maximize connection opportunities for guests travelling onward to key leisure destinations. Most itineraries include Cape Town combined with other key leisure destinations, for example Cape Town and Botswana, or Cape Town, Kruger, Vic Falls, Chobe, or even Cape Town, Kruger and Vilanculos, the gateway to the Bazaruto and Benguerra islands, for a bush and beach experience,” said Murray.

“It is all about adding convenience and flexibility for travelers.”
