Ethiopian Airlines Launches 3 New Flights

Ethiopian Airlines, together with Skytrax Global Airlines, launched three new flights on Tuesday (March 27), expanding its African network to Kisangani and Mbuji Mayi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and Nosy-be in Madagascar.

GebreMariam said the airline was connecting these destinations with more than 100 others around the globe. “Kisangani and Mbuji Mayi will be two additional points to the three points we already fly to in the DRC; so we are now flying to Kinshasa, Goma, Mbuji Mayi, Kisangani and Lubumbashi.”

Nosy-Be is a popular tourist destination for Europeans, and since the announcement of the new direct service, the Madagascar Embassy in Addis has been overwhelmed by visa requests, according to  GebreMariam, who says this shows that the trend is changing. Nowadays Africans are visiting African friends for tourism, which is very encouraging development.
With the launch of the new flights, Ethiopian Airlines now serves 58 destinations in Africa and more than 100 globally, making it the largest pan-African airline with the most destinations in the continent.
