Kenya declared World's leading Safari destination

Kenya’s profile as a tourism destination has been boosted having been voted World’s Leading Safari Destination at the just concluded  2015 World Travel Awards (WTA)  held in, El Jadida, Morocco.

The awards dubbed the Oscars of the travel industry held on December 12th 2015 saw Kenya clinch the coveted position for the second time having also topped in 2013.

In Morocco, Kenya emerged the winner against country nominees of South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

While announcing the awards, WTA President Graham Cooke said Kenya’s win was an endorsement of the destination known as home to authentic safari.

“We congratulate Kenya on this deserving win and encourage the country to continue their commitment to preserving the unique heritage bestowed to the country for the sake of generations to come” He added.

Besides beach and safari attractions, Kenya excels in other tourism products including culture, archaeology, and palaeontology (cradle of mankind).

Furthermore, Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (M.I.C.E) facilities avail tourism opportunities for business and leisure travellers.

Kenya’s commitment to enhancing wildlife conservation and upholding best practices in managing properties within conservation areas was rewarded through accolades in safari, eco- and green facilities.
