New Wildlife Corridor in Kenya

23rd July, 2018 15:20:28

Animals in the Eburu Forest – the 8715 hectares of prime indigenous forest in and around Mount Eburu – will have a new way to access to the fresh waters of Lake Naivasha in the Great Rift Valley, thanks to a new wildlife corridor being constructed between the two areas.

The forest is home to many birds along with 40 mammal species, including the endangered mountain bongo antelope. The creation of the new passage – including bridges over public roads – will increase tourism and help conservation efforts in the area to serve both the animals the visitors who travel to see them.
