Following the elimination of single-use plastic water bottles at Ruzizi Tented Lodge and Karenge Bush Camp, Akagera National Park is now using reusable bottles and glasses for packed lunches also. They are formally requesting that guests at Akagera bring their own reusable water bottles with them on their safari. Both Ruzizi and Karenge offer free refills for reusable water bottles with water decanted from dispensers. These dispensers are environmentally friendly, and use returnable 20L mineral water containers.
