South Africa’s immigration authorities have cautioned airlines (so travelers take note) that getting in and out of O.R. Tambo International Airport may get worse because of lack of proper staff. Aside from the inconvenience to passengers because of the disruption caused by long queues and waiting times, the airlines were bearing the cost of the current congestion by having to put their passengers into hotels overnight.  It seems some passengers have taken up to three hours to clear immigration. If you have plans to be at Tambo airport, please keep in mind the long queues.
