The Launch of Fast Track Immigration at Indian Airports
The Fast Track Immigration Trusted Traveller Programme (FTI-TTP) has been launched at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport and will soon expand to 20 additional airports across India, including major cities like Mumbai, Chennai, and Kolkata. This initiative aims to streamline the immigration process, reducing wait times from a minimum of 30 minutes to mere seconds for pre-verified Indian nationals and Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) cardholders. Utilizing biometric technology, eligible passengers can bypass regular immigration queues by using automated e-gates. To participate, individuals must apply online, undergo biometric verification, and their registration will be valid for up to five years. The program is designed to enhance international travel efficiency and security while minimizing human intervention in the immigration process.
