Tourism TV in Tanzania

December 15th will see the launch of a tourism TV channel in Tanzania, promoting the country’s wildlife, beaches, marine parks, historical sites, cultural tourism and much more. The Tanzania Broadcasting Channel (TBC) is launching the new 24-hour Tanzania Safari Channel, which “will not focus on wildlife only, but also archaeological sites and ruins, cultural activities, things like waterfalls, marine parks, beaches, etc”, according to Adolf Mkenda, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Natural Resources. The new tourism channel is the result of a directive by Tanzania President John Magufuli, and the new channel has the support of  Zanzibar Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Information, Tourism and Archives, Dr. Saleh Yusuph Mnemo, who said "We in Zanzibar are main stakeholders in the promotion of tourism. We see this new channel will be important in both Tanzania Mainland and Zanzibar. We will cooperate as the ministry in all activities pertaining to this initiative."
