Kenya Airways has entered into a codeshare agreement with Vietnam Airlines, as it works towards expanding its footprint in the south-east Asian market.

Under the agreement with Vietnam Airlines, Kenya Airways passengers will be able to travel via Bangkok on to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh in Vietnam and vice versa daily.Vietnam Airlines will codeshare on daily Kenya Airways service between Bangkok and Nairobi.

Qatar Airways has celebrated another milestone, as its first Boeing 787 Dreamliner landed on home turf in Doha, greeted by hundreds of cheering onlookers.

VIPs, media, airline and airport staff, together with passengers watched with excitement as Qatar Airways’ brand new state-of-the-art Dreamliner swooped into Doha International Airport marking the start of a new era in Middle East aviation.

In recent years Dubai has seen a boom in the offering of affordable yet quality accommodation, however demand for high-end luxury hotels remains strong with occupancy levels in the five star market at near capacity. Boasting many of the world’s most famous hotels including the Armani, Burj Al Arab and Atlantis the Palm, Dubai has become a popular destination for luxury holidays and over the next four years the emirate will see a number of five luxury hotels added to its portfolio, including the Waldorf Astoria Palm Jumeirah, the Palazzo Versace Dubai and W Hotel Dubai.


Both in Kenya’s capital city of Nairobi and Tanzania’s capital city of Dar es Salaam there are new commuter trains, the first of their kind, to ease traffic congestion in the cities’ streets. These trains will operate during peak hours in the morning and evening. As well, the Nairobi-Thika Super Highway was recently inaugurated. As with all things new, there will be growing pains and commuters will have to learn and adjust to a new way to commute.
