The Uganda Wildlife Authority has announced that the price of gorilla permits will now be a flat fee of US $600 in both low and high seasons for all visitors effective immediately. This price increase will also affect tourists who had already made bookings for the low seasons of April, May and November.

There has not been an official statement but tour operators need to be aware of the change, especially for trips that have already been booked in the low season of 2018.
UWA raised the price of Gorilla permits to be able to suitably compete with Rwanda whose gorilla permits had seen an increase from US $750 to US $1500.
