Update on Canada eTA

30th November, 2001 12:00:00

The government of Canada has decided to make the Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA) scheme mandatory for all the ‘visa-exempt foreign nationals’ in order to tighten the security measures in the country. Foreign travelers, including the citizens of Britain and US, now have to obtain an eTA after flying to the country.

The government has informed that the eTA requirement allows Canada to check that travelers are admissible before they board their flight, preventing those who are inadmissible from travelling to Canada in the first place.

The cost of getting an eTA online is Cdn. $7 and avoid any scammers who might ask for more.  The official Government of Canada website for applications is canada.ca/eTA
