Bugala Island is the second largest island in Lake Victoria, Uganda, after Ukerewe Island on the Tanzania side of the second largest fresh water lake in the world. Its area is 275 square kilometres or 27,000 hectares. It is a part of the Ssese Islands in the Kalangala District. The chief town is Kalangala. There are two options to get to Bugala; one via Entebbe and the other via Masaka, Bukakata. If you chose the Entebbe route, you will drive there and get to Nakiwogo, the ferry dock. Should one chose the Masaka route, you will drive some150 kilometres and get onto the ferry at Bukakata.

Day 1: Transfer to Bugala via Masaka or Entebbe
Depart Kampala to arrive at Entebbe, Nakiwogo Ferry Dock at 1 pm in time to take the 2 pm Ferry. 
Arrive in Bugala at 5 pm where you will be received by a steward from the accommodation/lodge you have chosen. 
Dinner and overnight at chosen accommodation.
Day 2: Optional tours of Island
Day at leisure or do any of the many optional activities such as a nature walk, canoe ride, and beach games or take a small tour of the island on Quad bikes.

Day 3: Check-out & transfer to Kampala
After an early breakfast after you will be dropped off at the ferry dock in time for you to return to Entebbe. The ferry departs Kalangala at 8 am so you will be back in Entebbe at Nakiwogo at 11 am. 
The driver will be waiting to transfer you back to Kampala. 
If you'd like to spend an extra night in Kampala, arrangements can be made for you.
