Dambulla

In the city of Dambulla lies a hub which has been treasured by many kings since the 1st century B.C. Today, an icon in the face of Sri Lanka, Dambulla Rock Temple houses some of the most unique drawings in magnificently constructed 5 cave temples flanking the golden temple of Dambulla. Observe how exquisitely cave paintings are done along walls that shelter 150 statues of Lord Buddha. As you enter the retreat, look straight up to the gigantic Buddha statue glittering in gold over a land, which today houses an important junction in the country's economic and cultural uplifting.  

Sigiriya

Sigiriya is referred by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World this ancient palace and fortress complex has significant archaeological importance and attracts thousands of tourists every year. It is probably the most visited tourist destination of Sri Lanka.

Kandy

A lovely exotic city, the Hill Capital and last stronghold of the Sinhala Kings is a UNESCO World Heritage Site which retains an aura of grandeur, time has not affected. Encircled by hills, with a tranquil lake in its centre, it is the site of the renowned temple that enshrines the Tooth Relic of the Buddha and the Royal Botanical gardens – home to one of the world’s best collections of Orchids. A cultural sanctuary where many legends, traditions and folklore are still lovingly kept alive, Kandy and its satellite villages are the centre of the islands handicraft industry (items of wood, brass & silver) exquisite silver or gold jewellery and precious gems of many varieties including the world’s best blue and star sapphires. The highlight of the city’s calendar is the Esala Perahera, when a replica of the casket enclosing the Tooth is taken in procession for ten glittering nights in July/August by exotically costumed dancers, drummers and approximately 100 Elephants.

Bentota

Bentota, situated on the south west coast, at the confluence of the sea and the Bentota River, the sun drenched location and its golden, palm-fringed beaches which border the warm, sparkling waters of the Indian Ocean made it a natural choice for development as the first tourist resort. Today it is known in Sri Lanka’s global tourist markets as a highly attractive holiday resort with a wide and varied choice of distinctive hotels to suit every taste and purse. Bentota has a complete range of tourist facilities, great seafood and very popular water sports centres which provide boating, water skiing, jet skiing, snorkelling and wind surfing.

DAY 02 || 21st DEC || COLOMBO - PINNAWALA – DAMBULLA
 
Breakfast at Hotel and transfer to Dambulla, en route visit to Pinnawella Elephant Orphanage 
 
The Pinawella Elephant Orphanage is one of Sri Lanka's most popular tourist attractions. The orphanage's population has now mushroomed to around 65, making it the world’s largest collection of captive elephants. The elephants here range in age from new-borns to elderly matriarchs, and include orphaned and abandoned elephants, as well as those injured in the wild.
 
Check in to the hotel rest and relax. Evening make a visit to Dambulla Cave temple.

DAY 03 || 22nd DEC || DAMBULLA – SIGIRIYA ROCK - KANDY
 
Early morning proceed to climb Sigiriya Rock and return back to hotel for the breakfast.
 
Later proceed the journey to Kandy. En route visit to Matale Spice gardens.
 
Matale, An agricultural zone in the Central Province, Matale seldom drops off the maps due to its remarkable contribution through flagship crops of the island extending from tea, rubber & vegetables to spices. Spearheading the Rebellion back in 1848, Matale today takes immense pride in its story woven around spices. Stop by the side of a spice garden

DAY 04 || 23rd DEC || KANDY CITY TOUR
 
Breakfast at Hotel and enjoy a city tour of Kandy.

DAY 05 || 24th DEC || KANDY – NUWARA ELIYA
 
Breakfast at Hotel and transfer to Nuwara Eliya which is called as little England of Sri Lanka.
 
On the way you will be able to see the beautiful Ramboda waterfalls, see all the beautiful scenery, visit a Tea Plantation and a Tea Factory (there are three on the way which have visitor centres and they conduct you through their factory), buy some fresh Ceylon Tea pack, visit Nuwara Eliya Town (visit the market if you have time). If you are interested, you can also visit the Nuwara Eliya Golf Club, reputedly Asia's oldest, and see the quaint Post Office Building.

DAY 06 || 25th DEC || NUWARA ELIYA - BENTOTA
