COMOROS ESSENTIALS

Day 1: Arrival
Arrival at Moroni International Airport (HAH) and transfer to the hotel

Day 2: Flight to Mohéli, Island of unspoiled nature
Take a flight from Grande Comore to the pristine island of Mohéli, a UNESCO biosphere. A chance to explore the natural beauty of the island with accommodation on full board at Laka Lodge.

Day 3: Laka Lodge
Take this day to relax on the picturesque beach, swim in the lagoon, or take advantage of the optional activities available.

Day 4: Laka Lodge
Enjoy the whole day at leisure or take advantage of the optional activities provided.

Day 5: Itsamia
Transfer by car to Itsamia, spend the night at Itsamia Bungalows (simple community bungalows) and enjoy turtle observation from 1900 to around mid-night.

Day 6: Flight to Moroni and Legends of the North tour
Return flight from Mohéli to Grande Comore, met by at the airport by our driver and guide and leave for the discovery tour of the northern coast of Grande Comore and return to the hotel.

Day 7 – Expedition Karthala
Enjoy an incredible trek to the top of Mt. Karthala, the active volcano which towers over the island. Take a 4x4 to the 1,600m elevation, then continue on foot to the crater rim at 2,300m. Tour the caldera, enjoy a picnic lunch, and take in the expansive views of the Indian Ocean.

Day 8: Moroni medina and markets, Departure
Experience a walking tour of the old stone town of Moroni and its architecture. Spend some time in the markets, taking in the local goldsmiths, tropical spices, and fresh-caught seafood. Enjoy lunch at a downtown restaurant and then transfer to the airport for departure in the afternoon.
