Murchison Falls National Park is the largest wildlife reserve in the country. It is the best park for a short, mini-safari for those that only have a few days to spare to see the African wilderness and its abundant wildlife.

This safari adventure takes you to Murchison Falls National Park, which lies at the northern end of the Albertine Rift Valley. Murchison Falls National Par, Uganda’s most favourite game park is crossed by the Nile – the longest river as it flows north-wards to the Mediterranean. You stay two nights at Paara Safari Lodge and another two nights at the panoramic Chobe Safari Lodge and take in the sights, sounds and tastes.

Day 1: Drive to Murchison Falls N.P via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Wake up at leisure and enjoy your breakfast. After breakfast, a driver/guide from Rickshaw Travels Uganda will brief you about today and then you will commence the 4-hour drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you track Rhinos on foot with guides, which is a most exhilarating experience. The trek is an hour and a half and you come into close proximity with the Rhinos. After your trek, you enjoy a picnic lunch and exit the sanctuary to complete your drive to Murchison Falls National Park. On arrival, you will check-in at Murchison River Lodge and have the rest of the day to yourselves or head out for an evening game drive.

Day 2: Game Drive & Boat Safari
At 6.30 am after your breakfast, you will drive out for a game drive for a chance to view the glorious day-break from across the open savannah, birds and dotted woodland as well as riverine vegetation along the Nile. At between 11-12 midday, you will return to the lodge for relaxation and lunch.
After lunch, at 2.00pm, you will head out for the boat launch to the bottom of the powerful Murchison Falls. This three-hour boat cruise climaxes at the edge of the rift valley escarpment at which point you will get off the boat and trek to the top of the falls (wear sports shoes while on the boat for ease of trekking to the top). Having worked up a sweat, once at the top, get bathed in the misty spray that the Nile create as it forces itself into the 7-metre cleft to create the famous Murchison Falls. Your guide will be waiting up top to transfer you back to the lodge.

Day 3: Bush breakfast at Nile-Lake Albert Delta & transfer to Chobe
This morning, you will go to the Nile-Lake Albert Delta for a boat cruise at 7.00am and enjoy a bush breakfast. Although people say this slow-going cruise is great for birdwatchers, it is perfect for everyone who loves wildlife. There are plenty of animals and birds to see with an excellent chance of seeing the rare Shoebill. This trip takes four to five hours. As you approach Lake Albert, the mountains you see in the distance is DR Congo, and so you are looking at Murchison Falls National Park in a completely different way. On the way back to the lodge, you do a game drive and view more game. Back at the lodge, you check-out at Paara and head to Chobe Safari Lodge.

Day 4: At Leisure
Wake up at leisure and enjoy your breakfast.It is a wonderful place to simply relax on the sun lounger and read a book or simply enjoy the view. If you decide to venture out, a game drive will result in sightings of wildlife, birds, flora and fauna in an area of the park that has yet to be discovered. Otherwise take a swim in the pool and just chill.

Day 5: Drive to Entebbe & Departure
After breakfast, check-out and commence your drive to Entebbe via Kampala. You will have lunch en-route. Depending on the time of your flight out of Uganda, you can make a stop at the African Crafts Village in Kampala for a chance to buy some crafts, coffee and a souvenir. After, you will continue to Entebbe – arriving in time for you to check-in for your flight home.
