Skydiving is most definitely not for the weak heart; and yet, it’s almost in everyone’s bucket list these days. For Tanzanians, we have good news; you can now skydive in Zanzibar!
If you want to skydive, there are two means of getting into contact with freefall. The Tandem Parachute jump or the Accelerated Freefall Course (AFF).
The Tandem Parachute jump is the best alternative for those who want to enjoy the feeling of freefall without any complications whatsoever. The Accelerated Freefall Course (AFF) are for those who are sure that they want to learn about freefall and eventually become skydivers.
The company specializes in providing skydives for first time students. This involves you being attached to a very experienced and fully qualified Skydive Instructor, and together you will jump with that instructor whilst they take all the controls and giving you all the exhilaration of a skydive in a very safe and comfortable manner. That’s what’s called a ‘Tandem Skydive’.
Tandem skydive is offered for first-timers, and the price is approx. USD 350 per person. This involves a short brief followed by a 15-minute plane ride over the coastline. At 12,000 feet, you will jump out while attached to the front of an instructor and experience free fall for about 50 seconds. Your instructor will then open the parachute, and you will have a 5-minute canopy flight back to the skydive center for a soft landing right on the beach. If you want a professionally edited video capturing your whole experience, there will be an additional payment of USD 75.
The company is located on the beach at Kendwa and bookings can be taken from February.
