Spotlight on China

China is a vast country with such diverse landforms as mountains, deserts and jungles. It’s so different and isn’t that why we travel; to experience something new and different and cherish all the world has to offer?

So why not China, which has so many ancient monuments and sights from The Great Wall of China to the Terracotta Warriors to it’s beautiful landscapes.  Let’s not forget Chinese food, not the kind we buy as takeout, but the authentic Chinese food which is more delicious and varied.

China’s culture is rich with a history that is over 4,000 years old. They celebrate endless festivals during the year on important dates on their calendar. The sheer size of China means you will come across fascinating diversity within each province, and more diversity within that province. You will definitely love the Chinese people, who are genuinely kind and willing to have a cup of tea with you to discuss their country.

China has spectacular natural wonders such as Jiuzhaigou National Park with its big turquoise pools and waterfalls at an elevation of 2,000 to 3,000 metres.  Fall is a most colourful time of the year. Others are Wulingyuan, in Zhangjiajie, the limestone hills of Li River in Guangxi and Tiger Leaping Gorge.

China boasts some of the largest cities in the world and is becoming more modern everywhere you look, with its many high rises and amazing skylines.  Shanghai epitomizes modern day China, with the famous riverfront skyline known as the Bund.

No trip to China would be complete without a visit to the amazing markets selling many unique products like fine silk, exquisite China tea sets and other handcrafted items.

Because there are so many unique and diverse things to experience, a trip to China will definitely create some awesome memories so make sure your camera can handle all the pictures you will want to take.
