When you can’t climb Mt. Kilimanjaro, then the next best thing to do is trek the foothills of this majestic mountain and enjoy the natural and cultural beauty surrounding it. A typical day would be a drive to the foothills of the mountain near Moshi. Upon arrival at Marangu slopes, our guide will meet you and assist you during your trek. The trek towards the Ndoro Falls involves walking up a slope into a coffee plantation, a banana plantation and other farmland.
With the help of a man-made walking sticks, one starts the fairly steep slope down towards the base of the falls. Once down, just sit on the large rocks and dip your feet in the cool water and enjoy the lush surroundings. One has to be in fairly good shape as the trek up the slope can be quite taxing.
There is an option to also go visit the Chagga Village, Chagga Museum and the Chagga Blacksmiths at work. If it happens to be Market Day, visit the local market also. Once all is done, go for lunch or dinner at a prearranged hotel before your departure to your next destination.
