Air Tanzania Company Limited (ATCL) has resumed its scheduled flights to Mwanza, in a move likely to improve the airline's business.
Air Tanzania suspended flights on the Dar es Salaam - Mwanza route in August, last year and has now decided to re-introduce the service between the two cities.
The national flag carrier will be flying twice per day, operating CRJ 200 aircraft with the capacity of 50 seats. ATCL Acting Public Relations Officer, Ms Lily Fungamtama, said the decision to resume flights to Mwanza was in response to customers' demand.
"We have been receiving numerous requests from our customers and mostly from the business people who ply between Dar es Salaam, Mwanza and beyond."
"As you know, a road trip between the two destinations is long and tiresome, while a flight will take approximately one hour at a very affordable fare," said Ms Fungamtama.
She said Dar es Salaam to Mwanza was a key route in terms of the airline's business growth strategy of meeting their clients' diverse requirements, among them, providing more seat capacity and a quick turnaround in flights.
