A new and innovative train hotel is being constructed to sit above the Sabie River with views of Kruger National Park from almost every room. The Kruger Shalati Train on a Bridge will sit on the Selati Railway Bridge tracks above the river, and offer luxury accommodations, all meals and beverages plus two game drives per day to its guests. Opening is scheduled for December 2019, and the hotel is already accepting reservations. The 24 luxury train rooms will each have en-suite bathrooms and floor-to-ceiling windows offering beautiful views. There will also be a lounge car, and the old blockhouse next to the bridge will be home to the new pool deck for the overhanging pool, where visitors can relax and enjoy the spectacular scenery of the river below and the Big 5 roaming in the park.
