Rickshaw Denmark first anniversary

Rickshaw Denmark celebrated its first anniversary since the opening of its office in Aalborg, Denmark on September 5th. The Denmark team celebrated with a cake which depicted an African theme, an evening of bowling, followed by an Italian dinner. A good time was had by all. Rickshaw Travel Group wishes our team in Denmark continued success.

Bank of Africa Tanzania Walkathon for Clubfoot

On Saturday, August 29th, Bank of Africa Tanzania held a Walkathon for Clubfoot - and raised USD 100,000 for Comprehensive Community Based Rehabilitation in Tanzania (CCBRT), the largest indigenous provider of disability and rehabilitation services in Tanzania. The early morning 3k walk and a little bit of rain did not deter the former President of Tanzania, Ali Hassan Mwinyi, other supporters of CCBRT or our Rickshaw Travels' team from enjoying the walk for a worthwhile cause.

Kenya rescinds online visa order for visitors

Kenya has made a U-turn on a requirement that visitors coming into the country apply for online visas days before travel and will now continue to allow foreigners to have their passports stamped on arrival. President Uhuru Kenyatta, who announced the reversal, said the country has encountered challenges in implementing the new online visa system. He said the manual system would continue so as not to bar the last-minute visitors.

Rwanda: Rising Gorilla numbers luring tourists

Volcanoes National Park - Deep in Rwanda's steep-sloped forest, the mountain gorillas look both endearing and intimidating. A tourist might feel conflicting impulses to shy away and reach for a hug (the latter is not advised) when a gorilla brushes past on a path. The way a gorilla snoozes, scratches a leg or casts an inquiring glance - it all seems familiar, and yet wild.

2016 Solar Eclipse to pass over Tanzania Parks

The September 2016 annular solar eclipse will be visible from central Africa, Madagascar and locations from the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Katavi National Park in the western part of Tanzania, is virtually an untouched and unspoilt park where you can enjoy not only a safari, but experience annularity of approximately 3 minutes. Ruaha and Selous National Parks will also experience this annular eclipse.
