TRAVEL AGENTS ARE BACK?

It seems that Travel Agents have been news fodder in the United States. An article in the New York Times has started a debate about this topic "Are Travel Agents Back?" "They never left!" one responded. There is a link to this article if you'd like to join the discussion.

Today's consumers are overwhelmed by the amount of information online and are returning to the traditional travel agents to help them organize their travel. Travel agents can offer personal service together with the knowledge of the destinations they are selling. A unique experience that an online guide cannot provide.


Travel Agents today offer speedy service, personal attention and custom-tailored itineraries. They are constantly connected with their clients through e-mail, text messaging, blogs and on-line photos, to name a few. Today's travellers are tech-savvy and realize that a travel consultant is another research tool, only human and focused on their needs.
