This 5-day trip to Rwanda to celebrate Easter, offers a diverse and immersive experience. On Day 1, you will be picked up from the airport and taken to Onomo Hotel Kigali for an overnight stay. Day 2 starts with a city tour, exploring the Nyamirambo neighborhood and visiting various cultural sites. You will also have the opportunity to learn about the history of Rwanda at the Kigali Genocide Memorial. In the afternoon, you will head to Volcanoes National Park and stay at Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge. Day 3 begins with an early morning briefing and gorilla family assignment at the Rwanda Development Board office, followed by an exciting gorilla trekking experience. After the trek, you can relax at the hotel and optionally visit the Ellen De Genres Campus. Day 4 includes a briefing to see golden monkeys and a drive back to Kigali, where you will stay overnight at Onomo Hotel Kigali. On Day 5, after a leisurely breakfast, you will check out from the hotel and head to the airport for your onward flight

Day 1:

  • Afternoon/evening: Driver picks you up from the airport and takes you to Onomo Hotel Kigali for check-in and overnight stay.

Day 2:

  • Morning: Driver picks you up from the hotel at 9:00 AM for a city tour.
  • Highlights include:
  • Tour of Nyamirambo neighborhood, including a visit to a women's hairdressing salon, a family compound, mosques, a lookout view over Kigali, and a tailor shop.
  • Traditional lunch at the home of Aminatha, NWC's best cook.
  • Visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial to learn about the '94 Genocide against Tutsi and the history of Rwanda.
  • Lunch at Repub Lounge.
  • Afternoon: Head to Volcanoes National Park. Approximate drive time is 2.5 to 3 hours.
  •  Check-in at Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge for overnight stay on a full board basis in a deluxe room.

Day 3:

  • Early morning (6:30 AM): Driver picks you up from the hotel and takes you to the Rwanda Development Board office for briefing and gorilla family assignment.
  • Trekking to see gorillas, which may last between 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorilla family.
  • After the trek, return to the hotel to freshen up, have a hot lunch, and then evening is at leisure.
  • Optional visit to the Ellen De Genres Campus to learn about the history and conservation of gorillas and Rwanda.
  • Evening at leisure.
  • Overnight at Tiloreza Volcanoes Ecolodge on a full board basis in a deluxe room.

Day 4:

  • Early morning (6:30 AM): Driver picks you up from the hotel and takes you to the Rwanda Development Board office for briefing to see the golden monkeys.
  • Post lunch (around 2:00 PM): Drive back to Kigali.
  • Overnight at Onomo Hotel Kigali on a bed and breakfast basis.

Day 5:

  • Have breakfast at leisure, check out from the hotel, and head to the airport for your onward flight.
