Embark on an exciting journey from Dar Es Salaam to Mikumi National Park, starting with a scenic train ride on the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR). After arriving in Morogoro, you will be transferred to the park for a full day of wildlife exploration. Experience the beauty of the Tanzanian savannah, where you can expect to see a variety of iconic animals, including elephants, lions, and giraffes. Enjoy a packed lunch amidst nature before continuing your game drive. In the evening, you will return to Dar Es Salaam via the SGR.
Morning: Dar Es Salaam to Morogoro
- Arrive at the SGR station for check-in and boarding.
- Depart from Dar Es Salaam on the SGR towards Morogoro.
- Enjoy scenic views of the Tanzanian countryside during the train ride.
- Arrive at Morogoro Train Station; your driver/guide will transfer you to Mikumi National Park (1.5 – 2 hours drive).
Late Morning & Afternoon: Mikumi National Park Full-Day Game Drive
- Arrive at Mikumi National Park and begin your full-day game drive.
- Expect to see elephants, lions, zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, and various bird species.
- Break for lunch with a packed meal or at a picnic area.
- Continue the afternoon game drive, exploring waterholes and learning about animal behavior from your guide.
Evening: Return to Dar Es Salaam
- 04:00 PM: Transfer from Mikumi National Park back to Morogoro Train Station (1.5 hours drive).
- 06:30 PM: Arrive at Morogoro SGR Train Station for check-in.Includes:
- Pick-up and drop-off at your hotel/residence in Dar Es Salaam.
- Round-trip train tickets (Dar Es Salaam to Morogoro and back).
- Transfers from Morogoro to Mikumi National Park.
