When traveling to Saudi Arabia, it's essential to be aware of certain cultural and practical considerations. As a dry country, alcohol is strictly prohibited throughout the Kingdom. While modest dress is generally expected, women are not required to cover their heads or wear abayas except when visiting the Holy City of Madinah. Upon arrival, expect to undergo fingerprinting and a retinal scan. Keep in mind that many places, including shops and businesses, close between noon and 3 pm for prayer time, and some attractions may be closed on Fridays or Sundays. Additionally, unforeseen closures or denied access to certain sites by authorities can occur without prior notice. It's important to stay flexible and prepared for schedule adjustments, and tour operators are not liable for such events.
