This itinerary is a 5-day trip to explore the beautiful city of Srinagar, located in the northern Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. The itinerary includes a Shikara ride on Dal Lake, visits to Mughal Gardens, Jamia Masjid, Shah-E-Hamdan Mosque, Wooden Mosque, and a walk through the old spice market and ancient lanes of Srinagar city. The itinerary also includes a visit to Pahalgam, the Valley of Shepherds, and Gulmarg, the Meadow of Flowers, where one can enjoy a pony ride, a cable car ride, and skiing. On the last day, you will depart from Srinagar airport for your onward journey.
Day 1: Delhi - Srinagar
Arrive Srinagar and transfer to your reserved accommodation. Late afternoon Shikara ride on Dal Lake visiting floating gardens. Overnight in Srinagar.
Day 2: Delhi - Srinagar
After breakfast a sightseeing trip to Mughal Garden. The Mughal Gardens With terraced lawns, cascading fountains, paint-box-bright flowerbeds with the panorama of the Dal in front of them – the three Mughal Gardens of Nishat and Shalimar are the Mughal Emperors' concept of paradise and are today very popular places for picnics and excursions. In the afternoon drive through old part of Srinagar city and visit the famous Jamia Masjid, Shah-E-Hamdan Mosque, Wooden Mosque and walk through Heritage buildings, old spice market and ancient lanes of Srinagar city. Overnight in Srinagar.
Day 3: Excursion to Pahalgam
After early breakfast and drive to Pahalgam (Valley of Shepherds) via old part of Srinagar. Drive through Saffron fields, visit Awantipura ruins (1100 years old temple of Lord Vishnu built by King Awantiwareman). Drive through the pine forest and along Lidder River. The total distance of about 98 kms will be covered in about 2 hrs. One can enjoy a pony ride through thick pine forest. Overnight in Srinagar.
Day 4: Excursion to Gulmarg
After breakfast Drive to Gulmarg (Meadow of Flowers) 2730 Mts. above sea level. The distance of 58 kms will be covered in about 1 ½ hrs. Gulmarg has one of the best Ski slopes in the world and highest golf course of the world with 18 holes. One can also have the view of Nanga Parbhat if weather permits. The view enroute from Tangmarg to Gulmarg is fascinating. One can also have a short trek upto Khilanmarg which can be covered in about 3 to 4 hrs or enjoy a cable car ride which takes to the highest point. Evening return to Srinagar. Overnight in Srinagar.
Day 5: Srinagar (Departure)
After breakfast checkout from hotel and transfer to Srinagar airport to board flight for onward journey.
