Rickshaw Travels Uganda - now officially open!

Travelogue book brings local women entrepreneurs in full view

Editors Elisabeth Thorens-Gaud and Carin Salerno (first and second left) of the "The World of Women” book, take a souvenir snap with some of the local lady contributors, at the launch last month at the Alliance Francaise venue in Dar es salaam. Since its launch last month over 250 copies of the book, "The World of Women”, have been sold.

A Kenyan Community Helps Rhinos Come Home

Earlier this year, a photograph of Samburu warriors in Kenya touching a rhino calf for the first time in their lives won a World Press Photo award. There was sadness to the story of Kalifi the rhino - his mother had been killed by poachers - and there was sadness in the warriors' story too - they had grown up in a once rhino-rich land that now held none.
