SPOTLIGHT ON KENYA
Kenya today is world renowned for its safari destinations like Maasai Mara and the Amboseli National Park to name a couple. But don’t be fooled, because Kenya has a lot more than safaris to offer its tourist. Another reason to visit Kenya is its natural beauty, which can be seen in the snow-capped Mount Kenya, the Rift Valley, the magnificent sandy beaches or the warm waters of the Indian Ocean. Kenya is also becoming a golf holiday destination, with an abundance of beautiful courses around the major urban areas. Other activities to be enjoyed are snorkeling, scuba diving, sailing, fishing, mountain biking, bird watching, hiking, river rafting – the list is endless.
Kenya boasts a tropical climate, hot and humid at the coast, temperate inland and very dry in the north and northeast parts of the country. The country receives a great deal of sunshine all the year round and summer clothes are worn throughout the year. However, it is usually cool at night and early in the morning. Also given that Nairobi is at a high altitude, it can be quite cold even during the day between June and August.
Kenya is a fairly inexpensive tourist destination taking into account the favorable exchange rate against many international currencies. The people are warm and friendly, the culture diverse. What more can one ask? Kenya has it all.
